National Wildlife Refuge

The nation’s 500th refuge was dedicated in 1994 and its 16,225 acres are managed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.

Coopers Rock

Coopers Rock State Forest is 13 miles east of Morgantown and 8 miles west of Bruceton Mills. Its 12,713 acres are bisected by Interstate 68.

Maple Syrup

At Mountain Creek Cabins, we make and bottle our own genuine maple syrup, right here on the property. The entire process is in-house and the sap comes from our own trees.

Canoe & Kayak Rentals

Padlz Canoe & Kayak Rentals is located in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia between the Mill Place Restaurant and the Bruceton Mills Dam and offers kayak and cone rentals on the Big Sandy River.

For a relaxing retreat, the area is fortunate to have a busy calendar of festivities all year. The area is also rife with historic landmarks, places, and buildings that are accessible year-round. Our cabins at Cooper’s Rock are also near West Virginia University, making us the ideal retreat after WVU sporting events. We keep a full schedule and can help arrange your trip around home games.
